This engraving, printed in Frankfurt in 1670, shows a view of the Great Fire of London, taken from Southwark. The City is almost completely obscured by flames and smoke. The artist is Matthaus Merian the Younger (1621-1687). It demonstrates the continuing interest in the fire throughout Europe.
