A Suffragette Advertising Cart, 1909. The horse drawn vehicle is covered with banners and posters promoting the Votes for Women newspaper and filled with Suffragettes reading copies of the weekly publication. Such advertising carts were regularly hired by the Women's Social and Political Union to publicise the campaign and announce meetings.
