  • Rita Martin's photo of Gertie Millar is glued into an album containing 35 futher prints showing the actress in various roles. On this page 'Dancing Mistress' is written in pencil faintly above the print. The music to this show was written by Gertie Millar's husband, Lionel Monckton. Gertie Millar played Nancy Joyce, the dancing mistress of the Brighton school 'Down House' who is dismissed but finds fortune and happiness in Switzerland. The show opened at the Royal Adelphi Theatre on 19 October 1912 and ran until 21 June 1913.
