Breakfast receptions were often held for released suffragette prisoners. Mrs Tanner had been escorted from Holloway prison to the reception in central London in a horse drawn carriage driven by Suffragettes wearing traditional Irish country dress, in honour of Mrs Tanner's heritage, as seen worn in the photograph by Vera Wentworth Charlotte Marsh, Elsa Gye & Mrs Keegan. < Hide
