Typed eyewitness statement written by Alice Toyne giving an account of the arrest of Teresa Billington on 19th June 1906 in Cavendish Square. The account describes how one policeman hit Teresa in the face whilst another held her by the throat until she turned purple. The incident refers to a deputation of c.40 women from East London, led by Teresa Billington, to Asquith's house in Cavendish Square. Teresa was sentenced to a fine or two months' imprisonment in Holloway. Although initially sent to Holloway an anonymous reader of the Daily Mirror paid Teresa Billington's fine and she was quickly released. Alice Toyne also refers to Annie Kenney being part of the deputation. Her eyewitness account is similar to that provided by Minnie Baldock who was also present.
