  • Handfinished sample Valentine's card comprising three sheets of white lace paper and one plain sheet. The top two sheets are identical and comprise a white lace paper border with embossed flower decoration surrounding a central rectangular shaped panel. The top sheet has applied decoration of a handcoloured cut out paper lobster and below a cut out paper scallop shell surrounded by embossed paper leaves. Above is handwritten 'The lobster in Love', the lobster image flaps down to reveal the hidden message 'I have a lady in my head'. The second sheet also has the same handwritten message as the sheet above but the applied paper lobster and shell decoration is missing. The third sheet is of white lace paper with central embossed floral wreath surrounding a plain oval panel. This sheet has no applied or additional decoration.
