  • Suffragette Procession, 23rd July 1910. In the centre of the postcard are Suffragettes representing North Islington, carrying a placard marked 'North Islington Women Demand the Vote' This procession, organised by the Women's Social and Political Union and Women's Freedom league in support of the Conciliation Bill, involved two processions through central London culminating in a rally in Hyde Park. If passed the Conciliation bill would have given the vote to women who occupied premises for which they were responsible. This was one of several processions organised during the Summer of 1910 in support of the Bill.

Record quality:

What is this?

Not every record in Collections Online is complete. Some have low quality images designed purely for recognition, while some have been catalogued only to a basic standard. This graphic is designed to give you an impression of the quality of data you can see. 100% meets all our current data standards and has a high quality image, 20% is a basic record with no image. Individual record quality can change over time as new photography is carried out and records are worked on.
