Edith Mansell-Moulin founded the Cymric Suffrage Union in 1911, and in 1912 established the Forward Cymric Suffrage Union. The organisation that united 'Welsh men and women, their sympathisers and friends' in the enfranchisement of women before any cause' focused its campaign on London. Members handed out Welsh language suffrage publicity at Welsh chapels in the capital and sought support among the owners of Welsh milkshops in the capital. Edith was organiser of the Welsh contingent at the Coronation suffrage procession of 1911. She was present on Black Friday 18th November 1910. In 1911 she served a month in Holloway prison after being arrested while on a deputation led by Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence to the House of Commons. Edith's husband was a vice-president of the Royal College of Surgeons and repeatedly condemned the Government's forcible feeding of hunger striking suffragettes. < Hide
