  • This is a toe strap from a wooden patten. Some of the nails that would have attached the leather to the sides of the patten are still in situ and originally there would probably have been five nails on each side. The strap is made from a single layer of leather. It is elaborately decorated with a stitched pattern, although the thread is now missing and only the elongated stitch holes remain. The decoration is linear with a roundal in the centre.
