A painted inscription on the neck of the amphora reads: LIQUAM / ANTIPOL / EXC / L TETTI AFRI / CANI / AFRI, which translates as: 'Lucius Tettius Africanus supplies the finest fish sauce, the product coming from Antipolis', modern day Antibes, southern France.  < ...Read more
