Candy container

Mechanical lithographed tinplate penny toy Santa Claus and sleigh with candy container. Comprising a lithographed Santa Claus with white beard in grey fur-edged robe. The sleigh has gold shafts, a red frame, and runners on top of which is an embossed wickerwork body with sliding lid for the storage of sweets or candies. Purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 17th December 1906.
