  • Three theatrical souvenir plates engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr Phelps in the role of Hamlet. The portraits have been cut out from paper and stuck on card handcoloured with background scenery. The engravings are embellished with metal foil tinsel ornamentation notably on the dress accessories and sword. Black velvet and cotton cloth has been applied for the clothing. Such sheets were sold as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
