  • Left foot wood patten made of two pieces of wood hinged by a strip of leather. The patten is rebated so that the leather hinge can lie flat. The leather hinge is made from a double layer of leather and secured in place by two rows of four nails. The patten has a pointed toe and a very narrow waist. The fragmentary straps indicate that there were heel and toe straps. The toe straps were secured by three nails on each side and the heel straps by two nails each side. Record quality:

What is this?

Not every record in Collections Online is complete. Some have low quality images designed purely for recognition, while some have been catalogued only to a basic standard. This graphic is designed to give you an impression of the quality of data you can see. 100% meets all our current data standards and has a high quality image, 20% is a basic record with no image. Individual record quality can change over time as new photography is carried out and records are worked on.
