  • Mechanical lithographed tinplate toy of two seated clowns with ball on a light tan base. Both clowns are in striped outfits, one green, red and white, the other in red, white and blue. Between them is a red and yellow chequered ball operated by a flip action that enables the clowns to 'throw' the ball to each other. Purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 6th December 1901.
