  • Pink net and gauze overdress. Low cut, figure hugging bodice of pink gauze over pink net lined with pink rayon. Partly boned with padded cups. Shoulder straps of purple satin extend around the base of the cups and are trimmed with diamanté drops applied to the fabric with glue. Cups similarly trimmed. Shoulder straps have a further elastic strap attached to them at the shoulder. A broad length of purple nylon gauze is attached to the right shoulder strap, the free end set into an elastic wrist band trimmed with artificial flowers. Opening centre back, fastening with a zip and hook and eye. Base of bodice is cut in handkerchief points. Full circular skirt of pink gauze over pink net. Gauze skirt and "sleeve" trimmed with diamantés. Condition: many diamantés have been lost; glue deteriorating. Worn by donor, née Cragg, danced with Peggy Spencer's Formation Dance teams as a member of the South London Modern Team.
