This ornamental cord belonged to inspector Simon Barr, who joined the City of London Police in 1990 and became a Mounted Officer in 2004. Simon and his horse Finn help police officers on foot deal with big crowds. The aiguillette forms part of a special uniform worn for ceremonial duties only, such as the Lord Mayor's Show.
