  • The jacket of this black wool Hartnell shows the New Look silhouette introduced by Christian Dior in February 1947: narrow waist and padded hips.The collar is cut in a mandarin style with a small v-shaped curved cut out at the back. On each shoulder is a row of 4 black buttons that the cape (73.46/2b) attaches too. The front of the jacket fastens with three round black buttons. On each side of the jacket above the hips is a pocket, the opening is a quarter arch shape and fastens with four buttons.
