  • This decorative velvet apron with lace decoration is part of a day dress dated c. 1861-63 included in Janet Arnold's 'Patterns of Fashion: Englishwomen's dresses and their construction c. 1860-1940' (Macmillan 1966, pages 20-21). Arnold must not have seen the apron when she came to the museum as she does not provide a pattern.
