Sword guard with drooping quillons, decorated in relief with Ringerike style ornament. ‘Ringerike’ is a style of Scandinavian decoration named after the Ringerike district in Norway, where carved stones have been found. It became popular in England after it was introduced by Scandinavian settlers.
