Right foot patten with a pointed toe. The patten is made from two pieces of wood and has a flat sole. The two pieces of wood are joined by a leather hinge, comprising two layers of leather secured in place by two rows of four nails. The leather straps are still in situ at the toe and heel ends. The front straps form an X over the front of the foot. The heel strap is secured in place by two nails on either side. There is also a leather binding strip around the heel which is held in place by the same nails used for the heel strap.

Record quality:
Not every record in Collections Online is complete. Some have low quality images designed purely for recognition, while some have been catalogued only to a basic standard. This graphic is designed to give you an impression of the quality of data you can see. 100% meets all our current data standards and has a high quality image, 20% is a basic record with no image. Individual record quality can change over time as new photography is carried out and records are worked on.
