  • Adult-size left foot wooden patten with a very pointed toe and made from a single piece of wood. It has three wedges at the toe, tread and mid-seat. There are four nails on either side which would have secured the leather straps that fasten over the front of the foot. The straps are now missing. On the left side there is an additional nail with a large square block head which was added to attach a fragment of leather binding. All the other nails have flat round heads. There is some wear to the base of the patten but overall it is in very good condition. The patten tapers from the tread to the heel with no real waist. There are traces of leather around some of the nail heads.

Record quality:

What is this?

Not every record in Collections Online is complete. Some have low quality images designed purely for recognition, while some have been catalogued only to a basic standard. This graphic is designed to give you an impression of the quality of data you can see. 100% meets all our current data standards and has a high quality image, 20% is a basic record with no image. Individual record quality can change over time as new photography is carried out and records are worked on.
