Pro-female suffrage propaganda postcard designed by the artist Miss E.B.Willis for the Suffrage Atelier. Captioned 'The Opportunist' the black and white postcard depicts a female graduate holding a scroll marked 'Women's Franchise Bill' seated in a sledge being pulled by an 'Anti-Suffrage' donkey ridden by a member of the Government.

The amateur artist Miss E.B. Willis held the office of Honorary Secretary and Honorary Organiser of the Suffrage Atelier. The Suffrage Atelier was founded in London in February 1909. Its aim was: 'to encourage Artists to forward the Women's Movement, and particularly the Enfranchisement of Women, by means of pictorial publications.' The Atelier artists specialised in hand-made wooden block prints, stencilling and etchings and produced visually powerful posters and postcards to publicise the pro-suffrage campaign. < Hide
